Crucks were chiefly used in the medieval period for structures such as houses and large tithe barns, which were entirely timber-framed. They were also often used for the roofs of stone-walled buildings such as churches. However, these bent timbers were comparatively rare, as they were also in high demand for the shipbuilding industry.
Inspired by the original structure, our Cruck Tent is a modernised version perfect for weddings, corporate events, Christmas parties and similar events.
And, whilst the new design stays true to its historic roots, it is much safer and more weather resilient than its medieval ancestor. Plus, it has been carefully engineered for easy installation and is simple to move, suiting temporary occasions perfectly. Our cruck tents stands proud at 7m high, 16m wide & 15m long & has the look and feel of a tipi without the restrictions.
The Tent is covered with a textured fabric subtly coated in water-resistant PVC, these structures have the look and feel of traditional canvas, whilst being weather resistant and have been tested to withstand 70mph winds, just in case!
